NZ Private Capital Investment Awards
Background
The Annual NZ Private Capital conference includes the NZ Private Capital “Investment of the Year” Award presentation.
These awards highlight the significant and outstanding contribution that firms within the private capital industry have made to the New Zealand economy and demonstrating the real value of investment in the sector to grow businesses and drive innovation.
Nominations are sought from NZ Private Capital General Partner members for all investment stages based on Enterprise Value of the investee. Three awards will be announced in 2024.
- Large Cap Investment (over $150 million)
- Mid-market Investment (under $150 million)
- Venture Capital Investment
Judging criteria
The NZ Private Capital portfolio company awards are judged based on key attributes of a portfolio company. These attributes include growth performance including earnings and profitability growth, innovation, resilience, diversity and inclusiveness, and return on investment.
Qualifications
To qualify, the nominator must:
• be a current financial member of NZ Private Capital;
• be authorised to provide the required information to NZ Private Capital.
Investment award nominations criteria
Award nominations criteria are:
• the investment must have been made within the ten years prior to 31 July 2024; and
• the initial investment must have been completed not later than 31 July 2021;
• the investment must have been substantially New Zealand owned or New Zealand based prior to the original investment;
• all nominations and information are submitted as requested on the nomination form via email;
• answers need to be kept concise and to the point;
• submissions are sent to NZ Private Capital by 5pm on the 30 September 2024;
• all nominations will be considered by an expert judging panel; and
• the person submitting the nomination form must be authorised to provide the information to the judging panel and to NZ Private Capital. The information submitted will be confidential to the judging panel.
Judging results
Up to three finalists for NZ Private Capital Investment Awards in each category will be announced prior to the annual conference. NZ Private Capital will announce the Award winners at the annual conference on 24 October 2024.
