NZ Private Capital Awards

Background

The Annual NZ Private Capital conference includes the NZ Private Capital Awards presentation.

Awards are presented in the following categories:
– Investment Award over $150 million
– Investment Award under $150 million
– Investment Award Venture Capital
– Emerging Leader
– Firm of the Year

These awards highlight the significant and outstanding contribution that firms within the private capital industry have made to the New Zealand economy and demonstrating the real value of investment in the sector to grow businesses and drive innovation.

NZ Private Capital members are invited to nominate for all investment stages, firm and emerging leader awards. One award for each category will be announced in 2025.

Judging Criteria
The criteria for the Investment Awards include the investment must have been made within the ten years prior to 31 July 2025; and the investment must have been substantially New Zealand owned or New Zealand based prior to the original investment.

The Firm of the Year awards are judged based on key attributes of a fund manager. These attributes include leadership in industry development, particularly in the areas of supporting the educational and career development of emerging talent, industry ESG and DEI performance, governance, stakeholder engagement and community and philanthropic support. 

The Emerging Leader criteria include that the nominee is working for a member fund manager or limited partner and is under 35 years of age on 30 September 2025.

One award will be awarded in each category. NZ Private Capital will announce the Award winners at the annual conference on 30 October 2025.
